Date and Place

Bir sonraki sınav 8 ve 10 Nisan 2009'da iki aşama halinde yapılacaktır. The next examination will be held in two stages on 8 and 10 April 2009.
Sınav yerleri Yabancı Diller Yüksek Okulu D Binasında açıklanacak, ayrıca bu sayfada yayımlanacaktır. The exam places will be announced at the School of Foreign Languages, D Building and posted on this page.
İçerik, Süre, Puanlama Contents, Duration, Grading
Sınavın birinci aşaması çoktan seçmeli 70 sorudan oluşmakta ve 2 bölüm içermektedir: Dilbilgisi (40 soru / 20 puan) ve Okuma (30 soru / 30 puan). Bu bölüm sınavın yarısını oluşturmaktadır (50 puan) ve sınav süresi 90 dakikadır. The first stage of the exam consists of 70 multiple-choice questions in 2 sections: Language Use (40 questions / 20 pts.) and Reading Comprehension (30 questions / 30 pts.). This section of the exam comprises half of the total test (50 pts.) and its duration is 90 minutes.
Sınavın ikinci aşamasına girebilmek için birinci aşamada en az %50 başarı göstermiş olmak (24,50 puan almış olmak) gerekmektedir. In order to qualify for Stage Two of the exam, the test taker is to have obtained a minimum of 50% achievement (24.50 pts.) in Stage One.
Sınavın ikinci aşaması 2 bölüm içermektedir: Dinlediğini Anlama (30 puan) ve Yazma (20 puan). Bu bölüm sınavın yarısını oluşturmaktadır (50 puan) ve sınav süresi süresi 110-120 dakikadır. The second stage of the exam consists of two sections: Listening Comprehension (30 pts.) and Writing (20 pts.). This section of the exam comprises half of the total test (50 pts.) and its duration is 110-120 minutes.
Puanlama 100 üzerinden yapılır. Grading is out of 100.

Kurallar Rules
1. Sınava girecek adaylar yanlarında ODTÜ tarafından verilmiş resmi kimlik belgesi (ya da eşdeğeri belge), yumuşak kurşun kalem, tükenmez kalem ve silgi bulundurmalıdırlar. 1. Test takers are required to have with them an official ID issued by METU (or a comparable document) , a soft pencil, a ball point pen and an eraser.
2. Sınava girecek adayların sınav salonuna aşağıdaki araç-gereçler ile girmesi ve bu tür araç-gereçleri sınav süresince verilecek aralarda kullanmaları yasaktır:

her türden çanta (el çantası, sırt çantası vs.);

herhangi bir elektronik cihaz (çağrı cihazı, telefon, cep telefonu, avuç-içi bilgisayar, elektronik tercüme cihazı, kronometre, alarmlı saat, fotoğraf makinası, veri depolama ve aktarımında kullanılabilecek her türden cihaz);

kitap, broşür, ders notu, sözlük gibi, sınav sorularının yanıtlanmasında yararlanılabilecek her tür basılı yayın.


Yukarıdaki kurallardan herhangi birisine aykırı hareket edildiğinin rapor edilmesi durumunda, adayın sınav sonucu iptal edilir.

 2. Test takers are not permitted to have with them

bags of any kind (handbags, backpacks, carrier bags, etc.) in the exam halls

electronic devices during test sessions or breaks. Electronic devices include but are not limited to beepers, pagers, radios, telephones or cellular (mobile) phones, translators, stopwatches, watch alarms (including those with flashing lights or alarm sounds), personal data assistants (PDAs), and any other electronic or photographic devices of any kind

testing aids during test sessions or breaks. Testing aids include but are not limited to books, pamphlets, notes, dictionaries, thesauri or potential aids of any kind.

In the event of a reported violation of any of the rules above, the test taker’s test score will be cancelled.

3. Sınavın 1. aşamasında 30 dakikadan çok geç kalan adaylar sınava kabul edilmeyecektir. Sınavın 2. aşamasında sınav başlamadan 30 dakika önce sınav yerinde bulunulması gereklidir. Sınavın DİNLEME kısmı başladıktan sonra sınav salonuna kimse alınmayacaktır.

Sınavın 2. aşamasına geç kalan adaylar DİNLEME kısmı ilk bölümünün ardından verilecek aradan sonra, DİNLEME ve NOT TUTMA ile YAZMA kısmına girebileceklerdir.  		3. Test takers who are more than 30 minutes late for Stage I of the exam will not be admitted to the exam. Test takers have to be in the exam hall 30 minutes before the exam starts.

Test takers will not be admitted to the exam after the LISTENING component starts. However, examinees who are late for Stage II can take the LISTENING & NOTE-TAKING and WRITING parts after the first section of the LISTENING component is completed.
4. Adaylar sınav süresince sınav gözetmenlerinin isteklerine uymakla yükümlüdürler. 4. Test takers must fully comply with the proctors' directions during the exam.
5. Başkasının yerine sınava girme ya da kopya çekme girişiminde bulunan adayların sınavları geçersiz sayılacak ve haklarında disiplin işlemi / yasal işlem yapılacaktır. 5. Disciplinary/legal action will be taken against those who attempt to impersonate the rightful test takers or who attempt to cheat, and the exam results of such candidates will be considered invalid.

ODTÜ-İYS'ye herhangi bir nedenle giremeyen adaylar için telafi sınavı uygulanmaz.


The exam results will be announced on this page and at the School of Foreign Languages, D Building.

There is no make-up for METU-EPE.

* TOEFL Pen and Paper which is administered by institutions (Institutional TOEFL) is not valid.
* Kurumlar tarafından verilen TOEFL (Pen and Paper - Institutional TOEFL) geçerli değildir.

The results of these exams are valid for two years.
Bu sınavlardan alınan notlar iki yıl için geçerlidir.
